Anderson Sliva....That's all I have to Say!!!

Chael Sonnen is clownin. Maybe he hasn't seen this video or maybe he is mistaking the Spider for someone else. This right here makes every point needed.

  1. Just have a look at the who's who's Spider has beaten and you know Chael has a button punchers chance and that's about it. Practically unprecedented. I'd like Sonnen to win because I don't like how Spider presents himself but whatever....

  2. I agree with your post completely. It's any man at any time type of sport, so anyone can win, that's the way the game is played.

I love Anderson Silva for his skills and that he is one of the best, or some many say the best fighter in the sport.

What I don't like is how he carries himself as you had said. A lot of the showboating and dancing is unnecessary.

I think that when you get to the skill level that he is at, and you run through your opponents as he has done, you get a sort of ego, a sort of invincibility. That very easily can come across as a negative. It's easy to act the fool, when you're on top of the world. Tyson did it and so have others in other sports.

I want to see Silva win because of my respect for him as a fighter. However, I would like to see someone put him to the test. Show him that this showboating and dancing gives him a negative in the publics eyes. Push him as a fighter and see if he is truly the best in the game.

I don't think Sonnen is going to do that, but he very well could. All it takes is one on the button, or a slip up on the ground and you're tapping.

I appreciate you posting on the site. I wish you luck in your fight, from what I hear, you're gonna come out on top. Beat 'em down and work for your belt. You've got my support!

  3. That was me Cuz (Danny) who posted as Buckeyemma. I see why you thought it was Riley cuz I have a photo of him with my nephew Jake after a fight in Niles haha. And buckeye mma is the gym he represents I think. That was the only pis in my phone when I created the google account. Thats my wifes sisters son in the pic. Great kid. I respect Silvas skillz but after those last two track meets he fought, he might hafta do that again cause Sonnen is a tough cookie. I see Jason did post something on one of your topics as annonymous though. Sorry for the confusion

  4. No worries. Either or, I'm happy that everyone is participating. I'm glad that Riley posted on my blog. It's great to have a fighter post his opinion, even if it is annonymous. You did throw me off with the Buckeyemma and the picture though.

I love Silva for his skills, but he's gotta chill out with all of the clowning around. It really takes away from the fighter that he is. Sonnen is a tough kid, but I just don't see him beating Silva.

However, Silva has to stop with the game playing. If he brings that type of attitude to the Octagon, he stands the chance of slipping up and potentially losing the fight. Sonnen is charged up and wants Silva's belt.

When a fighter sets his eyes on the prize and you're defending your belt, you had better bring your A game. I know if I was charging for the belt I'd be looking to exploit any flaw in my opponents game.

My thing is, I don't have much respect for the way that Sonnen carries himself either. If he doesn't like Silva for the way he acts, he's not doing much better in how he is carrying himself. You should see some of the youtube clips online. He's got a real mouth on him.

I'm sure he's just trying to get inside Silva's head hoping to gain an advantage in that respect, but it's making him look as bad as Silva and his antics in the ring. The difference is, Silva has delivered, Chael has to beat Silva. If he doesn't, he can't talk smack about Silva because he's doing virtually the same thing.

Also, taking shots at Rich Franklin and the Nog brothers isn't right. He also took a shot at Brazil. Silva might clown around and act the fool, but he's not directly disrespecting other fighters and the countries they heil from.

I personally don't follow Sonnen, he's never been on my radar, so for him to gain my respect, he's gotta defeat the spider. Right now, I just don't see it happening.

  5. I bet it's gonna be one hell of a fight though. Sonnen is charged up and wants to bang. He has admitted that he doesn't have the standup to bang with Silva. In an interview he said that he was going to rely on his wrestling to try to bring Silva to the ground. I think he has forgotten that Silva is quite at home on the ground, so he may be able to wrestle him to the ground, which I doubt, but if he does, he is dealing witha BJJ black belt, so that might not be the best plan.

Now he can't bang with him admittedly, and he thinks he's superior on the ground. That sounds a little shaky to me. I guess we'll have to wait two more days and see.

  6. I'd hafta put my money on the mad skillz of Spider but he ran the last two times he fought. Played it real safe and didn't wanna mix it up. Wasn't he warned and scolded by Dana Whie for that???? This fight will be over quick and it could go Sonnens way if Silva takes risks like Dana wants him to.

  7. Hockeymandanoo, I thin you're correct. We already know the outcome of the fight, but I'm sure that Dana White was all over Silva about pushing the fight, rather than "running" or playing it safe so to speak.

I don't see it as playing it safe really, it's looking for the opening or feeling out your opponent. Its what works for Silva. That's how he fights and he's defended the title 8 times now.

He pushes the fight when he can. It all depends on who he is fighting. That's what's great about the Spider. He's very dynamic, in the stand up, in the clench, on his back.
